Can Concrete Be Used As Mortar

Whether you are starting out in the construction industry, planning a DIY project, or are curious, it is important to know and understand the difference between concrete mortar and cement.

Does Concrete Decompose

Concrete can be broken down for a variety of reasons, but its damage is often the result of a combination of factors. One of the problems with many building materials, including concrete, metal, and plastic, is that when thrown away, they take an incredibly long time to decompose.

Can Concrete Lintels Be Cut

It is not a myth that steel lintels are stronger than concrete, but it is a little more complicated than that. Between windows, doors and wall joints are concrete blocks reinforced with steel reinforcement. These two types of blocks are distinguished by the strength and support they give to the structure

Can Concrete Be Laid In The Rain

Many people often wonder if asphalt paving is possible when it rains, but the answer may not be exactly what you think. When you live in Pittsburgh, where it's wet most of the year, many ask: Can asphalt be laid in the rain, right?

Does concrete block radiation

When it comes to protecting oneself from radiation, it is both time and distance shielding. If you want to understand how a material reduces EMF (radiation), try not to think in absolute terms, but try to look at it in terms of the total amount of radiation from which you are protected

Can Concrete Be Drilled?

Most of us would have no doubt that a gun grab drill is a right tool for work when it comes to drilling concrete, but I wonder if we can get away with a hammer drill. Ideally, a normal drill bit should be used to drill concrete and held in the hand. Unfortunately, not all of you have access to this type of drill, and if you do, it is slightly more expensive than the hammer or drill you use.

Can Concrete Catch Fire

The collapse of the Atlanta freeway structure this week should highlight the fact that while concrete and masonry are not flammable, reinforced concrete structures cannot be considered completely fire-resistant. Although concrete is non-flammable and offers excellent fire protection qualities to prevent the spread of fire, it loses its ability to heat up to temperatures that encourage flaking when exposed to extreme heat. Normally, just a few minutes are not enough to heat concrete to a temperature conducive to splintering, and the strength reduction begins when the temperature rises above 250 degrees Celsius. Cement and concrete are therefore ideally used as refractory materials up to a temperature of 1000 degrees Celsius. After that, the reinforced concrete structure can withstand fire for a short time, but not for long.

Do Concrete Floors Crack

You go into your office and discover a big crack in the concrete floor, which you are pretty sure was not there the day before but is already there. Or maybe you just poured brand new concrete floors into your new building and a week later they are covered with tiny cracks. You still find cracks in your concrete floor, you still have to go through them until you realize they weren't there days before and

Does Concrete Expand Drying?

Cracks in concrete are a common occurrence, but what is the difference between cracked concrete and cracked concrete? Cracks occur when the concrete stress exceeds its strength, and there is no guarantee that it will crack.

Does concrete absorb water?

A new technology called thirsty concrete is a kind of permeable concrete that can hold up to 1,000 gallons of water in 60 seconds.
